It's actually pretty smart. When the enemies hear gunshots from the hatch they probably won't think too much about it just yet. Maybe they'll have one guy keep checking every couple of seconds. So this trick will take some defenders off guard.

Fun Fact: when dropping through the hatch, you can crouch just for brief second just before touching the ground and you wont make a peep. Works on all platforms. Go ahead try it out.
