Halo on Playstation means Xbox has no actual exclusives. If it happens alot of die hard xbox console fans will probably just over to PC. Especially since Halo is about the only game Xbox has thats worth actually playing. and Halo hasnt been what we all fell in love with for 10 years plus. literally not even a week ago I ran into a player in a halo 4 swat match that speed hacking and aimbotting. What made it worse he that he was constantly t-bagging after killing. I have reported them and had the whole thing recorded. I hope that he and every other cheater gets IP banned.

I mean if halo releases on more consoles that’s great. My only concern is that Microsoft is giving away their last chance at Xbox competing for the “console war”. I don’t even care about Xbox as a brand, I have a PS5, but I just want more competition for SONY so they can’t get away with stuff like a 700 dollar ps5 pro model. But if there’s not competition then they can and they will get more greedy with the PS6 I guarantee it.

I hear the people on Xbox who want Halo mods and I think it would be smart of Microsoft to do that to differentiate themselves from PlayStation and utilize their ownership of both PC and Xbox. But at the same time, adding mods to consoles opens a whole can of worms that Microsoft might not feel like opening up, especially considering that there already is such a popular and established platform that is known for mods and tweaking in the PC. They probably think "if you want mods, then don't play on Xbox." at least that's what I decided 12 years ago when I made the jump

I think Halo coming to PS is only a good thing. Nothing has weakened the Xbox brand more than Xbox themselves, be it "if you want to play offline get an Xbox 360" or "if you want extra storage it'll be 3x the price of what it costs on PS5." So Halo being on a competing system is fine by me, any loyalty I had to Xbox died years ago anyway. Especially since I've been on PC only for about two years now, my Series X is just a blu-ray player at this point.

For Halo on PlayStation, I hope it works out. I’ve been a Xbox owner for years and just last week, I purchased Death Stranding (deluxe edition), a PlayStation exclusive on sale ON THE XBOX STORE! This was huge for me since I’m a huge Kojima fan but I digress. Now millions of Xbox players can play a game they probably thought they’d have to get a new console for, just imagine if PlayStation owners could play Halo, maybe even with us if crossplay is allowed. Maybe then I wouldn’t have to wait minutes for a BigTeam battle match to queue lmaooo

Honestly the no royalties thing reminds me of a previous situation where the Witcher Book author sued CDPR for more money due to not thinking ahead and only taking a lump sum payment instead of royalties.
Now this situation is a lot more tame but also understandable from both sides. Its shitty for Microsoft to not give them royalities when it would be a tiny drop in their ocean of revenue but if it wasnt in a contract, no company unless they are incredible nice are going to start doing something new just to be nice.

Microsoft is the problem for this franchise now. My biggest issue with Infinite was the networking side (servers). Infrastructure needs a massive overhaul and they’re still using equipment from decades ago.

Halo is slowly returning. Im very cautiously optimistic since the franchise was on a slow decline since reach came out. Games, books, and all. Retcon after retcon, flop game after flop game, it honestly looked so dire, and still somewhat does with activists at the helm of halo studios and the anti-gun person still working there (which i find stupid, you work on an FPS, which the human guns in game can function IRL and have before, and you say your uncomfortable with making them, not a good look)
Also, Halo was the reason why I've been an Xbox fan for years. It's why I've been stuck around, no matter your view on that part, it's a very bold move by Microsoft. Hopefully, someday, we can return to the quality of the bungie days and truly say, "WE ARE SO BACK!"
