Mint, I appreciate your optimism regarding Halo's future, even with all the negativity around it. While many of us(myself included) get too caught up in all the bad executive decisions with the franchise,all the cut corners and greedy monetization, you still find something positive. Rather than make redundant and noncannon armored Cores, they should have just had playable Elites and brutes from the start that play you have two different "armor cores" that can go in two different art directions and are not tied down to the Spartan armor box.
That way you can have different hero skins for the two aliens and even a flood variant 🤷🏾♂️
This makes more sense considering you're not following the fortnite route exactly but making it your own rather than being a follower

I'm tired of every event providing basic info on the lore of the event and saying go to waypoint to learn more. I want cutscenes, unique maps, and modes that tie into the narrative. 6:32 Okay, so I actually really like the idea of the Fracture events and armor cores. Hear me out. They offered a way for the live service side of Infinite to do an infinite number of events that didn't affect the main continuinity and a way for Halo fans to engage with the lore beyond the bounds of the main continuinity. This could've been a very tasteful way to expand Halo and it's identity without sacrificing it (which is a major issue people had with the story of 4 and 5). The problem is that it very quickly just became something for monetization. There was no heart there. The lack of cross core customization making all the armor cores so lifeless and barren was the biggest issue. Then there also just wasn't any heart given to the fracture story events. We got these snippets of really interesting alternate reality Halo settings and barely explored them. Imagine for a second if Halo Infinite launched as a Halo "moment". That moment would've been a Halo Infinite campaign and core gameplay that brought it back to its roots, a live service aspect that expanded the idea of Halo without sacrificing its integrity, a live action TV show that brought the original core story to screen, and a new Halo Legends style animated anthology that took the fracture settings and worked with various studios around the world to tell their (non canon) stories. That could've really ushered in a new age for Halo and made the franchise even more of a global phenomenon. Oh well. What's sad about Halo these past few years is how much of a disappointment its been. So many chances to be bigger than ever. So many.
As for the Xbox Games Show, I'd be surprised if Halo is there as it seems their projects are a ways out. Hopefully, I'm wrong. Still it really feels like Microsoft dropped the ball on the 343 name change. They should've waited until they were ready to announce a new game and soon release it, especially with Halo Infinite still getting milked and mishandled like this. Like they should've in 2026 (25th Xbox and Halo Anniversary) announced a brand new Halo Game at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2026 coming that year, teased the studio name change, and then followed with a direct for it which went into detail and post show interviews which did the whole name change explanation and why we as gamers should be excited for this new era in Halo.

I love how people complain about micro transactions, but don’t understand how business work do you want these games to be better right bigger more advanced how do they become that without funds cause the funds that they make just to sell the game is not enough if you think about the up costs and the upkeep Payout and payroll promotion advertisement none of these things are cheap but yet gonna do anyway never made sense to me. I’ve always felt if you’re complaining about Mike transactions in a gang that’s not forcing you to buy it And it says a lot about your financial stability.
I’ve never saw a problem with my transactions why because everything does implement things that are free in the game if you just play, I see a lot of players complain more about playing the game that actually spending the money the people who complain about spending the money other people who don’t have the money and they use things like bills, kids, and everything else as an excuse don’t get me wrong. There IS a way to do a shop correctly. Damn they could have even tried to create a CS:GO type system just without lootboxmaxing, giving people a trade option with friends, and a way to earn store credits as you play, and THEN you can use FOMO as a way to get people to actually play the game.

Personally…I stopped caring shortly after H4 came out. I tried Infinite…because I had the slightest bit of hope for it. But I was severely disappointed by the game, especially the multiplayer. So, I stopped caring because 343 is incompetent and mishandled the franchise from the very beginning. And they still do it to this very day.

I've been saying this for a while but ever since the first look we got at infinite, I've felt like people at 343 understood and loved halo, but the game is getting pulled in multiple different directions and the majority of them aren't by these people. They clearly understand it, they're just struggling to execute because every step of progress is met with a hundred roadblocks in such a massive development team
