If memory serves me I believe the reason Sprint wasn't implemented was because it would allow players to avoid and run away from engagements with enemy players reducing player engagement overall and didn't come back to the idea until Reach.

What’s so disappointing is that Halo could be a franchise as big as Star Wars. I think the only way it could grow and get better as a franchise is if Microsoft would implement more variety than just an fps shooter. Such as (mentioned) ODST, dogfighters, ship battles - racers even! (Particularly on the covenant side of things). Sad to say as a Halo fan, this franchise will never reach the potential it could. You bet your ass I’ll still be playing at least the MCC and Halo 5 (still trying to get into infinite. It just rubs me the wrong way).

Sprint in halo 2 is not new. In fact when you sprint while dual wielding SMGs the player model sticks out 2 "birds" while sprinting. This is just a bungie dev venting their frustration to whomever in higher command.

I had a ranked assault squad battle game the other day where it was 2-1 us and the other team had the bomb with time winding down. They were planting as time ran out and got it, so it was 2-2 at the end of time. It usually goes overtime, but this time it didn’t. The game just ended and everyone got zero. Hope this gets fixed sometime soon.

Thank fucking god we never got a shitty Halo that attempted to copy Overwatch just to bastardize the series into a fucked ass hero shooter. As disastrous as Halo Infinite was to the Halo franchise as a whole, a scuffed ass Overwatch clone would've been even worse, and it would probably have been a flop that Halo would've never recovered from. Okay, this is bugging me. Everyone WANTS a Flood horror game, but 99% of the fanbase, if asked for the worst levels in the original trilogy, will say Library, Cortana, Containment Zone... Like I think the only Flood level people legitimately like is 343 Guilty Spark.

Meh, a Halo 3 sequel with Master Chief is totally unnecessary. It's very unimpressive and uninspired. There is no better possible ending for the original trilogy than Master Chief sacrificing himself to defeat the Flood and Covenant to enter cryostasis floating around in deep space as a legendary, mythological figure across the ages of human history. Bringing him back in any sequel is a mistake, and part of the Halo lore should feature a universal human reverence surrounding Chief and Cortana as heroic figures lost to space and time in the vast depths of dark space.

Instead, Microsoft as well as fans should just create completely original story arcs and plot lines from the massive potential drawn from the Halo universe. Give us new characters, settings, and conflicts in the Halo universe as opposed to rehashing the same cliché garbage ass fan service derived from pre-existing characters that neckbeards uncritically gawk over.

A couple more things regarding Assault that you didn’t mention, when you go into overtime and score in Neutral Bomb, it counts as a tie instead of the team who scored winning. Also the fact that you don't get score for arming the bomb is ridiculous. It should be a tracked stat in the match.

I stopped playing Infinite because I can't even load a firefight without joining the last 5 seconds of final hill, or spectating last stand for 15 seconds only to watch bro die when I have 2 seconds to spawn. Same Bull-sh*t as Halo 5 Warzone. Load into a 16v3 with 1 minute left down 5000 points on the losing team, just to spawn in a Tank requisition and get camped by 5 people on the way out of the base. Or doing 99.9% of the damage on a boss, just for one guy on the enemy team to plink it with his magnum from his base and put his team up another 1000 points. 343 has totally ruined Halo for me. I miss dropping 85 kill Perfections in Invasion and 40 kill Perfections in slayer. Now I'm lucky to get a spree without getting ganked 6v1. Now they have ranked? So people have a reason to sweat and cuss out in the lobbies like it's CoD. The #1 reason Halo was my game of choice was the community not being like CoD fa**ots.

I think we now know that the issue with modern halos development wasnt the devs but basically the leadership

Theres one thing where its good to be scared that your ip will radically be changed if an idea is proposed different from the regular formula, but its another when you just sit on the ip and do nothing with it.

Its the main reason why many multiplayer Arena shooters died out and unfortunately Halo is on its last strength, I really do hope that the change of leadership and a stable game engine can allow for more devs to be creative, which clearly was the case in prior times

If we had a new odst game id be very happy. I think the studio is going to do nothing. They have been releasing dog s*** for the past 10-12 years. If we were to see another halo in these next few years it would be an expansion upon the banished storyline probably with the same model and the same microtransactions everyone hates. I hope the people they hired know what they're doing because we sure as hell don't want another remaster. We want flood, odst, covenant and most of all we want a good progression system without battle passes.
